More Gavin Reed Headcanons:
Work
-He isn’t well liked by his coworkers and he doesn’t try to change their opinions
-He’s good at his job though so he has that going for him
-He doesn’t have a partner
Connor/Gavin (convin? gavor??)
-Nobody saw this coming. The entire precinct was almost as surprised as they were when they started dating.
-He immediately regrets all the times he antagonized Hank because everyone knows Hank’s adopted Connor, and how protective he is of him
-He still calls Connor mean names but they lack the venom they had before and they become strangely affectionate
-He convinces Connor to stop being so polite and call him names back
-A conversation between these two can be seen as passive aggressive flirting or mutual distaste depending on how well you know them.
-Chris jokingly reveres Connor as a saint for managing to wrap two of the most hard to get along with people in the precinct around his finger, and silently prays he works his magic on Fowler next
Childhood/Family
-He was a really friendly kid, the complete opposite of who he is an adult
-He and Elijah were best friends when they were little. They were bullied a lot but stuck together until Elijah’s intelligence propelled him through school, leaving Gavin by himself
-The more Elijah excelled, the less time he spent with Gavin and the more his parents seemed to forget he existed, causing him to slowly resent Elijah until it became outright hatred.
-The scar on his nose is from the big fight he had with his family before he was disowned. It got physical and Elijah punched him, breaking his glasses and cutting him.
-Don’t worry, he landed a few good hits too
-If they ever met again they wouldn’t be able to get along and would probably end up punching each other again
-The fight took place on the day of his graduation from high school. His parents promised to go but then didn’t show.
-He found out his brother had won some stupid award for one of his projects and they stood him up to support Elijah
-After the fight he barely managed to survive and go to school at the same time. He spent most of his time working or studying
Other
-He loves Seafood
-Actually If you made him shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta with extra lemon in the sauce he would be nice to you for a whole week he loves it that much
-He can cook but it takes way too long. He makes simple macaroni it takes six hours to boil a noodle (very relatable, to be honest)
-He likes his coffee strong and sweet with no creamer
-He has glasses like his brother but he wears contacts because the glasses make him look too much like Elijah
-His eyes are blue (another trait he shares with his brother) but his contacts are green
-He’s the kind of guy who gets up early to run before work
-I’m adding ABBA to his playlist because the thought of him half-asleep mumbling/singing along to Dancing Queen while burning scrambled eggs at 7am makes me smile
-He’s very petty and won’t hesitate to get revenge for the smallest things

With Hank, and most of the DPD, out of commission, that leaves only Connor and Gavin to investigate a series of brutal android murders.

Work
-He’s a jerk to most everyone he works with but despite that, he can still be nice and sympathetic. He’s really good at talking to victims and witnesses.
Family
-Is related to Elijah Kamski. They’re brothers. (Both were played by the same guy which is where I get this idea from. They were both born in 2002 so I messed with the numbers and made Gavin a year older) Gavin was disowned (some big fight that he refuses to talk about) and he hates his brother with a burning passion that could rival the heat of the sun.
-Also his parents favored Elijah (apparently he graduated university and founded CyberLife when he was 16?!) and Gavin hated being overlooked as the ‘dumb sibling’ just because his brother has a freakishly high IQ
Romance
-He hasn’t dated anyone seriously since college
-He’s a low key romantic (holding hands, watching the stars together, walking on the beach at midnight, etc.) but he’s actually terrible at being romantic (he gets too flustered easily)
-Bisexual
Android (and Connor) Related
-Most of his hatred of androids comes from the fact that his brother made them
-His initial hatred for Connor came from that plus the worry that he could be replaced by an android detective after he worked so hard with no support to get where he was.
-He cools down towards androids post game (assuming the peaceful ending where everyone lives) but he still antagonizes Connor for a while before their relationship improves
-I kinda ship him with Connor (I’m a sucker for redemption arc + slow burn + enemies to friends to lovers; I can’t help it)
Other
-When he drinks too much you might think 'oh no he’s probably an angry drunk’ but he’s actually kinda sad when he’s drunk (also forgets to keep up his asshole persona and might accidentally say something nice)
-He loves those old cult classic movies like Heathers, Dawn of the Dead, Scream, etc.
-He also likes older music like Green Day (not a fan of the music he grew up hearing on the radio)
Work
-He doesn’t talk about himself at all aside from the occasional bit of information
-Nobody really knows anything about him
-Always manages to wriggle his way out answering a personal question.

-Gavin is proficient in Irish Step Dancing (this glorious Headcanon is all anon’s fault and I love them for it)
-He learned from a girlfriend in college. She danced in competitions back home with her friends
-She’s from Ireland, and she met him while studying abroad for a year in the US
-Even after they broke up when she went home, they remained good friends (She’s also like… his only friend? He’s not good at making them if you had t noticed)

When Gavin slowly blinked himself awake, he wasn’t expecting to have roughly one hundred pairs of tiny eyes watching him. He couldn’t help it, he shrieked, and accidentally flailed off the bed. Rubbing his head where it hit the corner of the bed on the way down, he glared hard at the elaborate fish tank, cursing Connor’s fascination with fish.
“Gavin? I heard yelling. Is everything alright?”
Connor poked his head into the bedroom, looking perplexed to find Gavin on the floor.
“Your stupid sharks are watching me,” he accused, pointing his finger in the direction of the large congregation of android sharks.
“They like you.”
“They want to take a bite out of me, that’s what they want to do!”
“They’re androids, Gavin, they don’t require organic nutrients to sustain them.”
“Well, that one in particular looks like he’s sick of thirium pellets!” He eyed a tiny shark with a large gaping mouth. Connor looked scandalized.
“Angela would never do that. Basking Sharks are planktivorous.”
“You’re missing the point, Connor.” Gavin hauled himself to his feet, not taking his eyes off the sharks. He walked backwards towards the dresser and grabbed his clothes off the top, Connor shaking his head the entire time. “I’m watching you in particular, Angela. One fin outta line and it’s–” he pointed his finger at the tank in the shape of a gun, “pew. Angela fin soup for dinner.”
“Gavin, please,” Connor tried to sound upset, but his lips were twitching the way they did when he was trying not to smile. “I would appreciate it if you didn’t threaten my fish.”
“Hey, you try waking up with a bunch of nightmares drooling over you.” He pulled his clothes on quickly and all but ran out of the room. The sharks followed him into the hallway, and then into the kitchen. If he didn’t hate it so much, he may have been impressed by the large water system that ran through the entire apartment. Breakfast was just as unnerving as waking up had been. He only managed to choke down one piece of toast and his coffee before it was too much.
Gavin wasn’t overly saddened about leaving Connor’s apartment, and subsequently, one hundred sharks behind. He was certain Angela fucking winked at him on the way out the door, too. With his bag over his shoulder and another coffee in hand, he definitely didn’t rush out the door. He was about to reach into the pocket of his jacket for his keys when Connor’s voice reached him over the parking lot.
“Gavin, wait!” Connor came jogging after him, skidding to a halt right before bumping into him.
“What’s up?”
“Aren’t you forgetting something?” Gavin did a quick mental replay of his morning. Almost killed by sharks, got dressed, made coffee, ate toast… Oh! He set his coffee on top of the car and leaned up to kiss Connor goodbye.
“Can’t believe I forgot.”
Connor’s face flushed with thirium. “I meant this,” he held out his upturned palm with Gavin’s car keys resting on it. “But thanks.”
*has been trying to write chapter two of Cold for like a week* but what if I worked on like… chapter ten instead??
If Gavin would cooperate it would be fantastic xD
The real problem is I don’t like conflict so I have trouble writing it and I just want to get to the part where they’re entering the friendship stage ;-;

Ah, I didn’t think anyone would see that post. I’m glad they caught you interest though. So far the only one I’m making any progress on is the first one, but I have plans for the other three eventually.

This is indeed about Cold.
2. Disaster Android keeps getting weird error messages and Trash Detective thinks he’s dying
This one is about a soulmate AU idea I posted a while ago where Gavin and Connor are soulmates who share each other’s pain. Androids aren’t considered human before the revolution, so they aren’t thought to have soulmates. Ever since Connor was first brought online and far past the day he Deviates, he’s been feeling Gavin’s pain, but doesn’t understand what the errors are, and Gavin thought he was one of the few born without one, so he doesn’t understand why he suddenly feels all this pain. They figure it out a year or so after the revolution.
3. Trash Detective gets beaten up in 25 different ways in the span of a week
This one is about the Bad Things Happen Bingo card I have where I want all the bad things to happen to one character in one story. Basically my favorite character, poor Gavin, has a really, really bad week.
4. Disaster Android meets an old man and through the power of psychology and friendship punches a god-like being in the face
This is a crossover idea I had for the Persona series, if you’ve heard of it. I had this thought that Connor accepting his Deviancy at Jericho is like accepting his shadow. I imagined what would happen if he met Igor and then I wanted to play around with more murders and two great would it be to have the DPD members grow closer by understanding each other after seeing their true feelings and whatnot? This one would probably take a while though because I’d have to flesh out the characters for other members of the DPD more and figure out what secrets they’re hiding. Not to mention finding their personas, and deciding on a story, and the big bad… but it should be fun, at least.
